CADUK Skills Academy (CSA) offers NVQs for experienced lifting operations personnel working in construction and related site environments.

Our assessments are based on the work you already do. You gather evidence from site, including videos, witness testimony from a supervisor or manager, site documents, lift plans where relevant and photographs, then send everything directly to your assessor.

There are no exams, no classroom attendance and no written assignments. You will also complete a recorded assessor discussion focused on how you carry out your day-to-day work.

How CSA’s Lifting NVQ Assessment Works

CADUK Skills Academy keeps the NVQ process simple, practical and based around real site work. You do not need to attend classroom sessions or complete any written work.

1. Apply for your NVQ
View the NVQ page for your lifting category, then click the ‘Apply Now’ button. You’ll complete a short form with your personal details, experience and CPCS/NPORS card information.

2. Complete a free eligibility call
One of our assessors will call you to discuss your experience and current role. They’ll make sure the NVQ is suitable and that you’ll be able to provide the evidence needed to complete it.

3. Collect evidence
You’ll gather evidence from site, including videos or photographs, witness testimony from a supervisor or manager, site documents and lift plans where relevant. You’ll then send everything to your assessor.

4. Unit discussions
You’ll complete the NVQ units through a recorded discussion with your assessor. The discussion focuses on how you carry out your day-to-day work on site.

Lifting Operations NVQ FAQs

We recommend that you have at least 6 months' experience working in a live construction or lifting operations environment after achieving your Red CPCS or NPORS card before enrolling onto the NVQ. This helps ensure you have the experience and evidence needed to complete the qualification successfully.

Yes. Many candidates complete their NVQ remotely using evidence from their normal work, including videos, photos, site paperwork, lift plans where relevant, witness testimony and assessor discussion. On-site assessment can also be arranged where required or preferred, although additional charges may apply depending on location.

Yes. Before you can enrol onto the NVQ, you will need to have passed your CPCS or NPORS theory and practical tests and hold the relevant Red Trained Operator card.

Most experienced candidates complete their NVQ within 1–2 weeks, and in many cases even sooner. You will have up to 12 months to complete the qualification if required.

Yes, in some cases. For example, if you complete the Level 5 Planning Lifts NVQ with us and also want the Crane Supervisor endorsement at the same time, you may only need to complete one additional Level 4 unit. We will confirm the correct route during your assessor call.
